Podcast 16 – Cuba

Our stint off the bike continued with a holiday in Cuba. It’s our third time in the country so we discuss our observations as the socialist paradise begins to open up to change. We also speak with Shelley’s parents who joined us on tour for the month of July and what went wrong with Baden’s cycling plans for Cuba?

  1. Dad says that’s the best podcast he’s ever heard from the Malecon!! Good stuff patching that one together guys – informative and entertaining!

  2. Hi guys

Really enjoyed hearing your voices again. Boy doesn’t Shelley sound like Shelia…. Sorry to hear about your illness Baden. How’s you’re fitness after 3 weeks in Cuba? We heard that you lost 10kgs Baden – have you kept it off? Guess the upset tummy might have helped. Good luck with the next bit of the trip!

    • Hey Steve, thanks for listening! Fitness is ok I think, it’s just that cycling in the heat over here is a whole different ball game. The time off the bikes and the Mexican and Caribbean food have definitely taken their toll re: my weight, but I’ll be sweating it all back off again soon. We’re heading further south soon on some longer and slightly trickier days so that should be a learning curve!

Really great to hear from you again 🙂
