Here’s another book I’ve just finished and liked. I’m partly putting these up here for anyone interested and as a record for myself in future!

The story of a woman who believes herself to be worldly and able to easily judge and manipulate people. She grew up without her parents and, through the influence of one person, has chosen to eschew meaningful attachment to other people and sentimental tendencies. I read this very quickly, which means I enjoyed it, but the book did make me feel a bit empty and lonely on behalf of the main character.

One particular day we were resting in Baiona and Baden had gone off on his own. I read loads of this book while drinking sangria out of a tetrapak and just ended up feeling depressed..
